Georgetown splits into two different mounting jobs, and knowing which one you're in saves everyone time. The first is the Toyota side of town. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky is the company's largest vehicle manufacturing plant in the world, and the plant has defined Georgetown's growth since its first Camry rolled off the line in 1988. The subdivisions that grew up around it, from the 1990s through today, are full of newer homes on standard wood-frame construction — the kind of walls that make an install quick, clean, and predictable. Those are straightforward, same-day jobs: drywall, 16-inch studs, room to work, and usually more than one TV per house. The other Georgetown is the historic core. Downtown sits around Royal Spring, which still supplies the town's water and once powered its first mills, and more than two hundred buildings in the area are on the National Register of Historic Places — a stretch of Main Street that has looked much the same for a century, with the kind of character that only genuinely old construction has.
